PHOENIX — A Phoenix-based group that focuses on Constitutional freedom is proposing Arizona voters be allowed to reject federal actions.
Led by a Phoenix businessman, Checks and Balances In Government has filed a ballot initiative to give the state authority to disregard federal acts they feel violate the U.S. Constitution.
The proposed amendment suggests Arizona voters be able to reject an action through a referendum or state representatives.
Supporters say this authority would preserve the U.S. Constitution’s system of checks and balances.
